About the Business
South from the foothills of the Cairngorms, within the fertile plain of Strathmore, you'll find Kirriemuir and the Thrums Hotel. Set in the heart of rural Angus this charming town is celebrated for not only its location as the 'gateway' to the beautiful Angus Glens, but also as the birthplace of Sir J.M. Barrie who is most famously known as the author of Peter Pan. It is from Barries work 'A Window in Thrums' that the hotel takes its name. Kirriemuir has a long history, first entering written records in 1201 and a stroll around the town provides the visitor with many notable sights and places of interest.
The Thrums is situated in the heart of the town and offers quality accommodation and a welcoming, friendly atmosphere within charming surroundings. This family run hotel, recently refurbished to high standard, has nine en-suite rooms. We have a selection of double, twin, single or family sized rooms to cater for all needs.
