About the Business
Combining heritage with the comforts and facilities of a modern hotel. The Owain Glyndwr provides an excellent venue for business or an ideal base to explore North Wales. This historic building, dating back to 1329 and named after Owain Glyndwr, the legendary Prince of Wales, boasts 13 well appointed bedrooms, a restaurant, 2 bars, a residents lounge, conference facilities and secure private parking. The hotel was originally a monastery in the grounds of the church and later became a coaching inn.
An extension was built in 1789 to house the FIRST Welsh Eisteddfod. Today, it still retains that old world charm, oak beamed ceilings, panelled walls, antique saddlery and brassware, yet has all the modern amenities of a first class hotel. The emphasis is on good food, locally sourced and farmed. Guests will be attracted by the log fire in the Saddle Bar to enjoy the range of beers, selected wines and spirits.
