Welcome to The Griffin Hotel, a historic coaching Inn located in the heart of East Anglia. Hospitality has been dispensed at The Griffin for the last 450 years.
For these of you interested in the history - The doors opened for the first time in about 1560 during the early reign of Queen Elizabeth I, in the part of the building fronting Church Street. It was extended in the 17th and 18th centuries with a frontage onto the churchyard. The Griffin was designed as a coaching inn, one feature being wooden cobbles in the archway to muffle the horses hooves, so as not to disturb the guests sleeping upstairs!
